The Vision Behind FundRobin

FundRobin was born from a simple belief: every charitable organisation deserves equal access to funding opportunities, regardless of size or resources. Our founders bring together decades of experience from both sides of the funding equation—enterprise strategy, data and AI innovation from the corporate world, combined with deep, hands-on experience navigating the challenges facing nonprofits and social enterprises on the ground.

Together, Nahin and Sara identified a critical gap in how mission-driven organisations discover and secure funding. Their complementary expertise in AI technology and sector knowledge drives our mission to democratise access to grants through intelligent automation, ensuring that worthy causes can focus on what matters most: creating positive change in the world.

Nahin Alamin

Nahin Alamin

Co-Founder & CEO @ FundRobin

Nahin brings over a decade of strategic transformation experience from the world’s leading consultancies and enterprises to revolutionise how nonprofits access funding. With senior roles at Capgemini, BT Group, and PwC, he’s delivered £200M+ in value through complex transformation programmes for FTSE 100 clients and global organisations.

But Nahin’s true passion lies at the intersection of AI innovation and social impact. Recognising the transformational potential of artificial intelligence, he developed hands-on expertise building FundRobin’s sophisticated matching algorithms, automated workflows, and intelligent data processing systems. His unique combination of enterprise strategy rigour and practical AI implementation experience positions him to bridge the critical gap between AI possibility and real-world impact for mission-driven organisations.

A graduate of the University of Warwick with a degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics and Economics, and Harvard Business School’s Executive Strategy Programme, Nahin is driven by a vision where every charitable organisation—regardless of size or budget—has access to the funding they need to maximise their social impact.

“We’re not just building technology; we’re democratising access to opportunities that can transform communities and save lives.”

Sara Anhar

Sara Anhar

Co-Founder & Subject Matter Expert @ FundRobin

Sara’s journey through the nonprofit sector reads like a roadmap of global impact. With over 8 years of hands-on experience at some of the world’s most respected humanitarian organisations—including UNICEF, World Food Programme, Malaria Consortium, Care Quality Commission, and Bangladesh Women’s Health Coalition — she’s witnessed first hand both the incredible potential and persistent challenges facing mission-driven organisations.

It was during her time navigating complex funding landscapes across different countries and contexts that Sara identified a critical gap: worthy organisations were spending countless hours searching for relevant opportunities and crafting applications, time that could be better spent delivering life-changing programmes. This insight sparked the vision for FundRobin.

Armed with a Bachelors in Business Management from Institute of Business Administration, Masters in Health Economics from the University of Dhaka and Masters in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, Sara combines rigorous analytical skills with deep sector expertise and an unwavering commitment to equity. Her unique perspective—understanding both the strategic importance of funding and the day-to-day realities of grant management—ensures FundRobin truly serves the needs of the organisations it aims to support.

From coordinating emergency responses in Cox’s Bazar to developing business strategies in London, Sara’s diverse experience across cultures and contexts has shaped her belief that technology should level the playing field, not create new barriers.

“Every hour we save organisations in grant discovery and application writing is an hour they can spend changing lives. That’s the impact that drives everything we do.”

Nabaa

Nabaa Refai

Co-Founder & Chief Data Officer @ FundRobin

Nabaa is the technical architect behind FundRobin’s AI-powered platform, bringing over 11 years of expertise in transforming complex data challenges into intelligent solutions. With a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick, she’s built her career at the intersection of advanced mathematics and real-world problem solving.

Her technical journey spans from developing sophisticated analytics models and simulations at EY, to leading machine learning initiatives at TUI, to directing AstraZeneca’s Process Mining Centre of Excellence where she scaled advanced analytics capabilities across a global pharmaceutical operation. Each role has deepened her expertise in turning theoretical concepts into practical solutions that drive tangible business impact.

At FundRobin, Nabaa is architecting the intelligent systems that make grant discovery seamless for nonprofits—building our AI extraction pipeline that processes thousands of funding opportunities, designing the smart matching algorithms that connect organisations with ideal grants, and developing the natural language processing capabilities that help draft compelling proposals. Her technical leadership ensures FundRobin’s platform isn’t just innovative—it’s robust, scalable, and reliable.

What drives Nabaa isn’t just the elegance of a well-designed algorithm—it’s knowing that her code directly enables organisations to access funding they need to change lives. Based in Abu Dhabi but working globally, she brings an international perspective to building technology solutions that serve organisations across different contexts and markets.

“There’s something incredibly fulfilling about building systems that automatically surface opportunities someone might have missed. Every algorithm we perfect could be the difference between a project getting funded or not—and that makes every line of code meaningful.”

Ahnah

Ahnaf Bin Azad

Co-Founder & Lead Developer @ FundRobin

Ahnaf is the technical foundation upon which FundRobin is built, bringing First Class Honours in Computer Science from Nottingham Trent University and practical engineering experience from companies like Ovarro and Skills and Education Group. His track record includes developing end-to-end APIs for B2B services, creating full-stack business websites, and consulting on technology choices and integration – leading development from concept to completion.

At FundRobin, Ahnaf leads the design and development of the entire platform, overseeing software architecture and managing infrastructure deployment to ensure scalability, security, and reliability. His technical leadership ensures that when charities discover funding opportunities through FundRobin’s AI matching, the platform responds instantly and scales seamlessly.

Beyond his technical expertise, Ahnaf brings a collaborative spirit shaped by his volunteering as a STEM Ambassador and Coder Dojo Mentor, reflecting the same values that drive his work at FundRobin: using technology to create opportunities and empower others to achieve their goals.

“The best technology is invisible to the user—it just works, seamlessly and reliably. At FundRobin, I’m building systems that our users can trust completely, so they can focus on changing the world rather than wrestling with complex funding processes.”

Aanisha

Aanisha Moontaha

Software Quality Specialist @ FundRobin

Moontaha brings a unique perspective to FundRobin’s mission through her experience ensuring that technology truly serves its users. With a Software Engineering background and experience at global organisations like IKEA Southeast Asia & Mexico and Swiss-based IMpulse, she’s witnessed how robust, intuitive platforms transform user experiences across different markets.

Her career journey from software engineer to leading critical e-commerce system deployments across entire regions taught her that true quality goes beyond bug detection—it’s about creating seamless experiences users can trust. At her previous role as Senior Portfolio Manager, she expanded into account management while maintaining her technical quality assurance expertise.

At FundRobin, Aanisha’s proactive, quality-first approach ensures that when nonprofits discover funding opportunities, they can trust the platform completely, focusing their energy on crafting compelling applications rather than wrestling with technical issues.

“Quality assurance in the nonprofit technology space isn’t just about preventing errors—it’s about ensuring that the people doing the world’s most important work have tools they can rely on completely. Every test I run could be the difference between a life-changing grant application being submitted on time or lost to technical frustration.”
